Taza a.k.a. Northwest Africa 859
Iron, Plessitic Octahedrite
Found 2001
Near Taza, Morocco

This meteorite hit the market hard back in 2001 and hasn't stopped yet. The Taza Irons are known for their rich brown patina, fine etch pattern and sculpted shapes. Officially, this meteoite is ungrouped, refered to as a Plessitic Iron which is a transitional composition between the ataxites and octahedrites. As such, it has a very high nickel content allowing it to resist oxidation. I have several small oriented and sculptural individuals available.
