These meteorite fragments are from the largest oasis in Egypt, a site of commerce in every trade and the primary trade center of the Sahara Desert. Purchased in 1994, most of the main mass is in a private collection, these fragments represent the only material available for sale.

Oddly, classification is still pending. Samples were submitted to Dr. Peter Jackes in Prague.  this meteorite has been published in MAPS.

This predates the NWA rush by several years and was an integral stone in the opening of the Saharan meteorite market.  Truly a piece of history.
